Fine Art Cards…

Several of my photographs have been printed into fine artĀ cards, which I wanted to share with you.

Except one, all are taken in and around Suffolk.

It started with the idea of having something smaller to sell and hand out when doing fairs and exhibitions, therefore somewhat of an experiment. Also an opportunity to display another side of my photography work.

A few weeks ago I ran a small survey on social media, asking which they thought from a choice of five (at the time) would make the best wall hanging piece. The results were quite the opposite to my thoughts and was invaluable help for which one was finally chosen.

The piece was duly made (which I photographed) and donated as a raffle prize at a Ladies Evening run by the Heritage Well Being Centre at Nowton Court, just outside Bury St Edmunds. A goodly sum of money was raised for the St Nicholas Hospice šŸ™‚

Before I shareĀ (another blog I feel) which oneĀ came out tops, I would much appreciate your comments and thoughts on the images. Which ones are your favourites and (if you know) why?

Advent blog… December 16th

In contrast to the very damp (festive?) weather we currently have, thought I’d share some early morning shots (and a big splash of colour!) I took earlier in the year of poppies, at their best in my garden. Was playing with a very shallow depth of field and really like the little droplets of water in focus on the petals.

Spot the bee in each image, hovering close by.

Advent Blog… December 8th

A beautiful bouquet of flowers at home, now past their best, made me think to search through the many photographs I have of wild flowers.

These were taken earlier this year on a trip round a local wood, only open to the public once a year. While there are many rare wild flowers protected in this place, who doesn’t like a beautiful bluebell.

I spotted our guides mode of transport, propped up on the edge of the wood … and you don’t get more modern than this!
